Often in Liturgical Dance you find that you use a plethora of dance disciplines. However, I would say the foundation of any dance is ballet and African Dance. So for the past month and for the rest of December I will be taking Ballet Classes twice a week! I am loving the Ballet Series at The UP Factory here where I live. Our instructor Natasha is amazing! Ballet strengthens you arms, legs, and core. Even muscles in your foot are used extensively (see video at the end). My point in mentioning this is, I often find in the Liturgical Dance Community that there is a lack of pursuit of excellence. Many settle for inferior expressions of dance out of fear of failure or maybe just outright laziness. I wish to share my passion for worship and dance with as many people as possible. I now have a ministry called HaRuach Worship. The purpose of this ministry is to help others come into a more intimate and authentic relationship with Yeshua, our King, and Bridegroom. So many people desire peace, love, and a sense of purpose. They can find all those things in Yeshua, but they hardly ever find it correctly in church. There is a lifestyle in Christ where you will rise from glory to glory, guaranteed, but if you settle for warming a pew every Sunday you will miss this. Blessings, Health, and Peace! |
